NTPC Renewable Energy, a step-down subsidiary of NTPC, has begun commercial power supply from 75.50 MW of its Khavda-I Solar PV project in Gujarat, marking a significant milestone in the company’s renewable energy capacity expansion.
With this addition, NTPC’s total installed generation capacity has risen to 84,924 MW. The newly operational 75.50 MW forms part of the larger 1,255 MW Khavda-I project, developed under the CPSU Scheme Phase-II, Tranche-III. The project achieved commercial operation on 19 November 2025.
The development aligns with NTPC’s long-term strategy to scale up its green energy portfolio. The company recently increased its installed capacity target from 130 GW to 149 GW by 2032, with ambitions to reach 244 GW by 2037.
