Goldi Solar has announced plans to significantly expand its manufacturing capacity, targeting an additional five GW of solar module capacity and 16 GW of solar cell capacity by FY28 to meet growing domestic demand.
Backed by strong policy support and government initiatives such as the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, the expansion aligns with India’s ‘Make in India’ push in the renewable energy sector. The Gujarat-based company currently operates three module manufacturing facilities near Surat with a combined capacity of 15.2 GW and plans to scale its total module capacity beyond 20 GW. The company is already approved under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) framework, which encourages domestic production and reduces reliance on imports.
As part of its backward integration strategy, Goldi Solar is establishing a 1.2 GW solar cell facility and intends to add a further 16 GW of advanced cell manufacturing capacity. This will enable the production of high-efficiency bifacial TOPCon N-type modules and support rising demand for solar installations across the country.
