Websol Goes Big: 4 GW Solar Expansion Approved!

Websol Energy System has received approval from the Government of Andhra Pradesh for its 4 GW solar cell and module expansion project at the Multiproduct Special Economic Zone (MPSEZ), Naidupeta, in Tirupati district.

The approval follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) in November 2025. Under the agreement, the state government has extended a comprehensive incentive package to Websol, including land allotment, fixed capital investment subsidies, power tariff reimbursements, exemptions from electricity duty, and concessions on industrial water charges and stamp duty.

As part of the expansion, Websol also plans to establish a 100 MW captive solar power plant to supply renewable energy to the manufacturing facility, ensuring reliable power availability while improving operational cost efficiencies.

The new facility is expected to significantly enhance Websol’s manufacturing capacity and support India’s broader renewable energy and clean manufacturing objectives.
