The Haryana government, in collaboration with the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC), has announced the development of a major Industrial Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) on approximately 3,000 acres near the newly inaugurated Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar. With a project cost of ₹4,680 crore, the IMC is a key part of the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor initiative aimed at boosting manufacturing growth and fostering planned urbanisation with multimodal connectivity.
The announcement came during a high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and attended by Civil Aviation Minister S. Vipul Goel. Officials noted that the Hisar IMC, the largest among six planned industrial townships across seven states, will be developed in two phases. It is expected to draw investments worth ₹32,000 crore and create over 10,000 jobs.
The IMC will feature modern infrastructure, including well-laid road networks, a water treatment plant, and a solid waste management system. A memorandum of understanding between the Haryana government and NICDC will soon be signed to ensure smooth execution.
Highlighting the project's strategic advantage, the Chief Minister said that out of the 7,200 acres marked in Hisar, around 4,212 acres are occupied by the airport, while the IMC will span the remaining 2,988 acres. The cluster's proximity to the airport is expected to significantly benefit industrial operations.
Additionally, under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, NICDC is also developing an Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub on 886 acres in Nangal Chaudhary, further positioning Haryana as a key industrial and logistics hub in the region.
