Uno Minda Greenlights ₹63 Crore Sunroof Plant in Haryana

Uno Minda has received approval to establish a new sunroof manufacturing facility in Bawal, Haryana, with an investment of ₹63 crore. The decision follows a substantial order for sunroofs from a leading original equipment manufacturer (OEM), highlighting the company's expanding role in the automotive sector.

The new plant, set to commence commercial production by the fourth quarter of FY27, will enhance Uno Minda’s production capabilities. This facility will focus on manufacturing a diverse range of sunroofs, catering to both domestic and international markets.

The move aligns with Uno Minda's recent technical licensing agreement with Japan's AISIN, a Fortune Global 500 company known for its expertise in sunroof technology. This partnership will enable Uno Minda to leverage advanced technology and enhance its product offerings in India.

In the quarter ending 30 June 2024, Uno Minda reported robust growth across its product segments, including lighting, alloy wheels, switches, sensors, and controllers. The new sunroof facility is expected to further bolster the company’s growth trajectory and market presence.

This strategic expansion underscores Uno Minda’s commitment to innovation and its strategic focus on meeting the increasing demand for advanced automotive components.
