Driving the Future: Hyundai Eyes $2B Investment for Third Indian Plant

In a strategic move to future-proof its production capabilities, Hyundai Motor India has initiated feasibility studies for a third manufacturing facility in the country. Anticipating that its current hubs in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra will hit maximum capacity by 2030, the automaker is actively assessing potential sites, with Maharashtra and Gujarat emerging as primary contenders.

Though still in its early stages without a finalized timeline, the proposed multi-phase project represents an investment upwards of USD 2 billion over the next five to seven years. Once operational, the new plant is slated to introduce an additional 500,000 units to Hyundai's annual output, further anchoring India as an indispensable pillar in the company's global manufacturing and export strategy.
