Land Rover Milestone: Defender 110 Local Production Kicks Off in Pune

In a major expansion of its Indian manufacturing footprint, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has announced local assembly of the Defender 110 at its Pune facility—marking the first time the iconic SUV will be produced in India. With over 9,000 units already on Indian roads, the Defender stands as JLR’s top-selling model in the country. Local production will allow the brand to meet surging domestic demand more efficiently while adhering to global engineering and durability standards. While the Pune plant focuses strictly on Defender 110 models for the Indian market, global supply will continue to be produced at JLR’s Nitra facility in Slovakia.
