GAIL Gets Green Light for ₹427 Crore Pipeline to BPCL Refinery

GAIL (India) Limited has received authorization from the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) to lay a spur pipeline from Vijaipur to BPCL’s Bina Refinery in Madhya Pradesh.

The proposed 18-inch diameter pipeline will span 108 km, originating from the HVJ-GREP-DVPL pipeline network at Vijaipur and terminating at the Bina Refinery. The project involves a capital expenditure of ₹427.49 crore and is scheduled for completion within three years from the date of authorization. The pipeline will have a capacity of 3 MMSCMD, including common carrier capacity.

This expansion aims to enhance natural gas connectivity to BPCL’s refinery operations, ensuring a reliable and cleaner energy supply. It forms part of GAIL’s broader strategy to support industrial demand, promote the use of cleaner fuels, and contribute to the government’s target of increasing natural gas’s share in India’s energy mix.
