Acer India is on a rapid expansion path, planning to open over 90 stores by early 2025. The company marked the inauguration of its 210th store today, its 10th in Bengaluru, aiming to boost its retail presence to 300-325 stores soon.
Harish Kohli, President and Managing Director of Acer India, shared that 40% of their business is consumer-centric, with the rest focused on commercial operations. Kohli noted a significant shift from online to offline sales in recent years, with 74% of their consumer business now conducted through physical stores.
The tech giant recently launched its Acerpure range of consumer electronics and appliances in India. This includes products like TVs, water and air purifiers, air circulator fans, and accessories. Acer’s strategic growth comes after surpassing Lenovo to become the third-largest player in the Indian PC market.
In the second quarter of 2024, Acer India achieved its highest-ever sales, with projections showing a 1.5-fold increase in the third quarter. Kohli emphasized that all their notebooks, desktops, tablets, TVs, and water purifiers are manufactured locally, highlighting their participation in the government’s PLI schemes.
Acer’s expansion highlights its commitment to strengthening its presence in India, leveraging local manufacturing and government incentives to cater to both consumer and commercial segments.
