Cognizant Expands Hyderabad Footprint with 1 Million Sq Ft Facility

In a bold move during a challenging time for the IT industry, Cognizant has announced a major expansion with a new 1 million sq ft facility in Hyderabad. This state-of-the-art center is expected to generate 15,000 new jobs and accommodate up to 20,000 employees, focusing on advanced technologies such as AI, machine learning, digital engineering, and cloud solutions.

The announcement was made during a meeting between Cognizant's leadership and Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in the US. This expansion was initially discussed during the Chief Minister's visit to Davos earlier this year. Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant, expressed excitement about the expansion, highlighting Hyderabad's strengths as a technology and innovation hub.

The new facility will significantly enhance Cognizant's capacity to serve global clients and advance its IT services and consulting offerings. This strategic move underscores the company's commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements and meeting the evolving needs of its clients.

In related developments, Telangana's Chief Minister and IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu are encouraging the Telugu Diaspora to invest in Telangana. The delegation plans to visit South Korea from August 10 to August 14, further promoting investment opportunities in the state.

This expansion not only reinforces Cognizant's position as a leading tech giant but also boosts Hyderabad's reputation as a thriving technology hub, driving economic growth and innovation in the region.
