Dabur's ₹135 Crore Southern Sojourn

Dabur India Ltd. has announced a major expansion into Southern India with the establishment of its first manufacturing plant in the region. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government to invest ₹135 crore initially, with plans to increase this investment to ₹400 crore over the next five years. The new facility, set to be operational within a year, will be located in SIPCOT Tindivanam and is designed to be one of Dabur’s most advanced and eco-friendly plants.

This state-of-the-art facility will cater to the Southern market, producing a diverse range of products including Red Toothpaste, Odonil, and Honey. The investment is expected to generate approximately 250 direct jobs and create thousands of indirect employment opportunities, significantly impacting the local economy. The MoU was signed by Guidance Tamil Nadu's Managing Director V. Vishnu and Dabur CEO Mohit Malhotra, with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin in attendance.

Tamil Nadu’s Industries Minister TRB Rajaa praised Dabur’s choice of location, noting the state’s robust industrial ecosystem and skilled workforce. He highlighted that the new plant will provide local farmers in the nearby Delta region with opportunities to supply raw materials, further benefiting the regional agricultural sector.

Dabur India CEO Mohit Malhotra expressed enthusiasm about the new facility, stating, “This investment will enable us to better serve the increasing demand for our products in South India and strengthen our market presence. We are excited about contributing to Tamil Nadu’s economic growth and collaborating with local vendors and suppliers.”

The strategic location of the new plant is expected to enhance Dabur’s operational efficiency and logistics, offering significant growth opportunities and reinforcing its commitment to regional development.
