Jabil to Invest ₹2,000 Crore in Manapparai, Creating 5,000 Jobs

Jabil, a major supplier to tech giants like Apple and Cisco, is investing ₹2,000 crore in a new electronics manufacturing facility in Manapparai, near Trichy, Tamil Nadu. This move is set to create over 5,000 jobs in the region, giving a significant economic boost to the central zone of the state.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project was exchanged in the U.S. on Monday in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, as announced on X (formerly Twitter). The investment is expected to transform Manapparai into a key electronics hub, joining the ranks of Sriperumbudur and Hosur, which are already established manufacturing centers.

This investment is seen as a major milestone for industrial growth in Central Tamil Nadu, benefiting Trichy and neighboring districts such as Pudukkottai, Madurai, Dindigul, Karur, and Thanjavur. It promises to open up new job opportunities for the local workforce.

In addition to Jabil, Rockwell Automation is expanding its presence with a ₹666 crore investment in Kanchipuram, creating 365 jobs. Furthermore, an MoU with Autodesk aims to enhance skills for youth and support startups and MSMEs.

These developments reinforce Tamil Nadu’s growing position as a premier destination for manufacturing and industrial expansion.
