Mahindra Logistics is set to enhance its operational capabilities by constructing a new 25-acre warehousing facility in Phaltan, near Pune, Maharashtra. This development aims to meet the growing demand in the automotive and manufacturing sectors. The expansive facility, covering 6.5 lakh sq ft., will be a crucial addition to Mahindra Logistics' nationwide network of multi-client facilities, strategically managing inbound logistics, manufacturing, and distribution solutions for clients in the region.
The construction will occur in two phases, with the first phase comprising 3.5 lakh sq ft. and slated to be operational by the end of 2024. The facility's strategic location near key customers in the auto OEM and components sectors will bolster Mahindra Logistics' services, especially in full truck load operations integrated with the national warehouse network.
In line with Mahindra Logistics' commitment to sustainability, the facility will adhere to green warehousing standards, incorporating measures for decarbonization, renewable power utilization, and active participation in local community development. Phase-I of the facility has been contracted to a manufacturing customer, set to function as its national logistics center, expected to go live by Q3/FY25.
This ambitious project also includes plans for skill development initiatives, aiming to create employment opportunities for over 500 individuals in the region. To support this endeavor, Mahindra Logistics and its partners are investing Rs 170 crore in capital across multiple phases for the comprehensive development of the new facility and related infrastructure.
