Modi Boosts Goa's Future with Rs 1,330 Cr Development Push

Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony for a series of development projects totaling over Rs 1,330 crore as part of the 'Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047' initiative in Goa on February 6, 2024. These projects encompass diverse sectors including education, sports, water treatment, waste management, and tourism.

Among the notable inaugurations was the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology, Goa, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as tutorial complexes, departmental buildings, seminar halls, administrative blocks, hostels, a health center, staff quarters, and other essential amenities to support the academic community. Additionally, the Prime Minister dedicated the new campus of the National Institute of Watersports, offering 28 specialized courses tailored for the advancement of watersports and water rescue activities, catering to both civilians and the Armed Forces.

Furthering environmental sustainability, PM Modi inaugurated a cutting-edge 100 TPD integrated waste management facility in South Goa. This facility is designed to scientifically process 60 TPD of wet waste and 40 TPD of dry waste, featuring a 500 KW solar power plant to generate surplus electricity.

Additionally, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for a Passenger Ropeway project, along with associated tourism endeavors, aimed at connecting Panaji and Reis Magos, thereby fostering enhanced connectivity and tourism opportunities in the region.
