Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. (AESL) has secured an inter-state power transmission contract valued at ₹8,500 crore under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) framework.
The project will be implemented through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), Vizag Power Transmission Ltd., to facilitate green power evacuation in the Visakhapatnam region (Phase-I). The mandate includes erecting 765/400 kV GIS substations at Pendurthi and Khammam-II, alongside 765 kV transmission lines.
Engineered to handle an estimated demand of 4,500 MW, the system will support upcoming green hydrogen and green ammonia facilities while meeting the surging energy requirements of data centers and digital infrastructure in the Pendurthi-Visakhapatnam corridor.
Upon commissioning, the project will expand AESL’s total operational network to 29,531 circuit km by adding 1,582 circuit km of lines and 10,500 MVA of transformation capacity.
