Adani Group Seals Mega Deal: Awards Rs 7,000 Crore Contracts to BHEL

Adani Group has awarded Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) contracts totaling Rs 7,000 crore for the construction of two supercritical thermal power plants. The first contract, worth Rs 3,500 crore, is for a 2x800 MW plant in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, commissioned by Adani Power. The second contract, also valued at Rs 3,500 crore, is for another 2x800 MW plant in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, undertaken by Mirzapur Thermal Energy UP (MTEUPPL), a subsidiary of Adani Power.

BHEL's scope of work includes manufacturing and supplying main plant equipment and associated auxiliaries, as well as providing supervision for erection and commissioning. Key components such as steam generators, steam turbines, and generators will be produced at BHEL's Trichy and Haridwar plants.

BHEL, a public sector company under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, operates primarily in the energy, industry, and infrastructure sectors. The contracts with Adani Group mark significant additions to BHEL's portfolio in the power generation segment, reflecting its continued role in India's energy infrastructure development.
