BEL Secures ₹1,155 Crore in Defense Contracts for Advanced Naval Systems

Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), a leading aerospace and defense company, has won new contracts totaling ₹1,155 crore. The most significant of these is an ₹850 crore contract from Cochin Shipyard Ltd to supply an indigenous Multi-Function Radar system. Developed by DRDO and manufactured by BEL, this radar operates in the X Band and is designed to detect, acquire, and track airborne threats, providing critical protection to naval vessels.

In addition to the radar contract, BEL secured another order worth ₹305 crore for various defense-related products and services. These include navigational complex systems, thermal imagers, communication equipment, fire control systems, gun control systems, and spares for naval ships, strengthening the country’s maritime defense capabilities.

These contracts, classified as tenders, add to BEL’s growing portfolio of defense projects. The company’s total order backlog for the current financial year now stands at ₹7,075 crore, showcasing its strong position in India’s defense manufacturing sector.

This latest win follows BEL’s previous announcements and highlights its crucial role in supporting India’s defense modernization efforts. The contracts underscore BEL’s technological capabilities and commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions for the country’s defense needs.

With these new orders, BEL continues to play a pivotal role in safeguarding India's naval assets.
