GMR Airports has received a Letter of Intent to Award (LOIA) from its subsidiary, Delhi International Airport Ltd. (DIAL), confirming its selection to finance, design, develop, construct, operate, and manage the upcoming Cargo City at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, New Delhi.
The concession will run until 2036, with an option to extend for an additional 30 years. The project will be developed over 50.5 acres, including a 10-acre parcel reserved for future expansion. Cargo City will house advanced cargo and logistics infrastructure to significantly boost IGI Airport’s cargo handling capacity and operational efficiency.
As part of the revenue-sharing model, GMR Airports will pay a portion of Cargo City earnings to DIAL annually, with a minimum monthly guarantee of ₹415.74 crore during the initial term.
This development aligns with GMR’s broader strategy to expand its footprint in aviation infrastructure and enhance logistics capabilities at one of India’s busiest airports.
