The ₹45 Crore Connection: RITES to Oversee Muriganga Bridge

RITES has secured a consultancy contract from the Public Works (Roads) Directorate of the Government of West Bengal to provide project management services for the construction of a four-lane extra-dosed bridge over the Muriganga River.

The contract, valued at ₹45.19 crore, also includes the development of approach roads connecting Kachuberia on Sagar Island to Kakdwip in the South 24 Parganas district. As part of the agreement, RITES will act as the Authority Engineer, responsible for overseeing the design review and construction supervision of the project.

The project is expected to be completed within 48 months.

The new contract follows RITES’ recent receipt of revised estimates for railway electrification work on the Mysuru–Hassan–Mangaluru project, further highlighting the company’s growing role in major infrastructure development across the country.
