JSW Energy Wins 400 MW Karnataka Power Contract.

JSW Energy (Utkal), a subsidiary of JSW Energy, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with multiple DISCOMs in Karnataka to supply 400 MW of power for 25 years starting 1 April 2026. The tariff has been set at ₹5.78 per kWh. The long-term contract will reduce JSW Energy’s open capacity from around 8% to nearly 5%, strengthening revenue visibility and lowering financial risk.

With this PPA, the company’s locked-in generation capacity increases to 30.5 GW, comprising 13.3 GW in operation, 12.4 GW under construction, 150 MW of hydro capacity under acquisition, and 4.6 GW in development. JSW Energy also has 29.4 GWh of confirmed energy storage capacity, supporting its targets of 30 GW of generation and 40 GWh of storage by 2030. The company continues to pursue its goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
