Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a major EPC contract awarded by the West Central Railway, aimed at enhancing traction infrastructure and freight capacity in the Bhopal Division.
The project involves the design, modification, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 220/132kV/2x25 kV Scott-connected traction substation, along with associated switching posts and autotransformers (ATs). The scope also includes the integration of SCADA systems for remote monitoring and control.
The work covers the Bina to RTA section, and is part of a broader effort to support a 3,000 MT freight loading target, while improving operational efficiency and traction capacity across the region.
Valued at ₹169.48 crore, the contract comes with a completion timeline of 18 months. RVNL’s selection reflects its robust track record and technical strength in executing complex railway electrification and modern traction system projects.
