RVNL Secures ₹116 Crore Electric Traction Upgrade Project

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) has secured a Letter of Intent (LoI) from Central Railway for a project valued at approximately ₹116 crore. The contract involves upgrading the electric traction system on the Itarsi–Amla section in the Nagpur Division.

Under the scope of work, the existing 1x25 kV traction system will be upgraded to a more efficient 2x25 kV system at the feeding installation. The project is to be executed within 24 months.

The Itarsi–Amla corridor is a vital route in Central Railway’s network, and the planned enhancements are aimed at improving operational efficiency and ensuring more reliable train services. This project further reinforces RVNL’s position as a key implementing agency under the Ministry of Railways, driving infrastructure modernization and electrification across India’s railway system.
