Texmaco Rail & Engineering has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for supplying signalling equipment and gears for the proposed construction of the 5th and 6th railway lines between Borivali (BVI) and Virar (VR) in the Mumbai Suburban section.
The project will be executed under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project–IIIA (MUTP-IIIA). The scope of work includes the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the signalling systems. Issued by the Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Limited (MRVCL), the contract is valued at Rs 258.62 crore. The project represents a major step toward strengthening Mumbai’s suburban rail network by enhancing capacity, improving connectivity, and reducing congestion along this critical corridor.
