Madurai Momentum: ₹36,660 Cr MoUs Boost Southern TN

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced that Tamil Nadu has secured ₹11.38 lakh crore in committed investments over the past four years, generating employment opportunities for 34 lakh people.

Addressing the TN Rising Summit in Madurai on 7 December 2025, the Chief Minister underscored the government’s emphasis on regionally balanced development. The summit resulted in 91 MoUs worth ₹36,660 crore, giving a significant boost to industrial growth in the southern districts. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to position Madurai as an emerging industrial hub, with 56,766 new jobs expected. Major projects attracted by the state include the PM MITRA Integrated Textile Park in Virudhunagar and a ₹314-crore TIDEL Park in Madurai.

Earlier investment conferences in Thoothukudi, Hosur, and Coimbatore had together drawn nearly ₹1 lakh crore in commitments. The Madurai summit alone brought in 186 projects across diverse sectors such as shipbuilding, electronics, and food processing.
