The Molasses Based Distillery Project by SBEC Sugar Limited presents a strategic venture located in Malakpur, Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, with a substantial investment of ₹35 Crore. Boasting a production capacity of 100.0 KLD, the distillery will primarily focus on producing Rectified Spirit (RS) and Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) from locally sourced molasses, a byproduct of sugar production. The intricate production process involves fermentation, distillation, and re-distillation to ensure the purity and quality of the final products.
Key to the project's success is the efficient utilization of raw materials, including locally sourced molasses and soft water for re-distillation, along with bagasse and slop for fuel, obtained as byproducts from sugar and distillation processes, respectively. However, to ensure sustainability, rigorous environmental considerations must be addressed. This encompasses wastewater treatment, air pollution control, and solid waste management to mitigate any adverse effects on the environment.
Furthermore, the project's readiness is underscored by the availability of land and its current status in the planning phase, awaiting environmental clearance. It is imperative for SBEC Sugar Limited to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the project's potential impact on the local community and environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering sustainable practices throughout the project lifecycle.
