KAI International plans sponge iron, captive power, iron ore pelletization, and beneficiation In Odisha

 KAI International Private Limited is considering constructing a new greenfield sponge iron plant, together with a captive power plant, iron ore pelletisation, and iron ore beneficiation at the Kapanda site in Sundergarh, Odisha.

Iron ore beneficiated fines, iron ore pellets, sponge iron, billets, and rolled steel products are some of the iron and steel products that will be produced as part of this project. Total Cost of the Project: 349 Crores

The kind of this project is a Sponge Iron Plant.
Beneficiated fines of iron ore are produced at a rate of 15,000 tons per year (TPA).
12,00,000 tons per year (TPA) of iron ore pellets.
3,46,500 TPA for the use of sponge iron.
4,300,000 total paper annualized.
Products made of rolled steel totaling 4,17,100 TPA.
Power of the Project: 75 MW.

117 acres (47.35 hectares) of land are included in the project.
The project is expected to create 1,500 employment, both directly and indirectly.

The kind of this project is a captive power plant.
Electrical Generation Capacity of the Project: 75 MW.

The project will be an iron ore pelletization plant, and its capacity will be 12,000 tons per year of iron ore pellets.

Beneficiation Plant for Iron Ore as the Type of Project
Iron ore beneficiation project with a capacity of 15,000,000,000 metric tons per year.

As on November 2023, The project is currently in the stage of being approved currently awaiting approval from the government.
