The Water Resources Department (WRD) of Odisha has issued a tender for an underground pipeline (UGPL) as part of the Subarnarekha irrigation project in Mayurbhanj. The project involves creating a gravity and pressure flow irrigation system, complete with a distribution network extending to one-hectare sub-chak areas. This system will be compatible with micro-irrigation, aiming to cover a total planned cultivable command area (CCA) of 5,054 hectares.
The project's scope includes the development of the command area of the Baisinga branch canal, stretching from RD 00 km to RD 33.865 km. This extensive infrastructure aims to enhance irrigation efficiency and support sustainable agricultural practices in the region. The entire EPC contract is valued at Rs 53.07 crore.
Additionally, the selected contractor will be responsible for the maintenance of the completed project for a duration of five years, ensuring the system's long-term functionality and reliability. This maintenance period is crucial for sustaining the project's benefits and achieving its intended agricultural impact.
Interested bidders must submit their proposals by 06 September 2024. This initiative is a significant step towards improving irrigation infrastructure and boosting agricultural productivity in Odisha.
