Adani Group’s Ambuja Cements Ltd (ACL) is set to make a significant investment of ₹1,600 crore to establish a new cement grinding unit in Warisaliganj, Nawada district, Bihar. This marks ACL's first venture in the state, highlighting its commitment to supporting Bihar's growing infrastructure needs.
The new facility will boast a total capacity of 6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), making it the largest cement investment in Bihar to date. This project aligns with the infrastructure priorities outlined in the recent Union Budget, aiming to bolster the state’s development.
The project will unfold in three phases, with the initial phase costing ₹1,100 crore and delivering a capacity of 2.4 MTPA by December 2025. Future phases will further enhance capacity at lower costs. Strategically located in Mosama village, the plant will benefit from excellent road and rail connectivity.
Beyond boosting infrastructure, this investment will significantly impact Bihar’s economy, generating approximately ₹250 crore annually in fiscal revenue and creating around 250 direct jobs and 1,000 indirect jobs. The Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) has allocated 67.90 acres for the project, with all necessary environmental clearances secured.
Pranav Adani, Managing Director (Agro, Oil & Gas) and Director of Adani Enterprises Limited, expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with the state government and local communities. This initiative follows Adani Group’s acquisition of Penna Cement and aims to expand its total capacity to 140 MTPA by FY28 through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions.
