JTL Industries Expands Maharashtra Galvanised Iron Plant

JTL Industries has announced a significant expansion of its galvanised iron (GI) plant in Mangaon, Maharashtra, as part of its strategy to boost production capacity and meet increasing market demands. The upgraded facility is expected to add an additional 5,000 metric tonnes (MT) of production capacity per quarter, cementing JTL's position as a leader in the steel tube manufacturing sector.

The expansion aligns with the company’s long-term goal of increasing its share of value-added products (VAP). With this upgrade, JTL aims to strengthen its presence in the domestic and international markets by offering a diverse range of products, including black steel pipes, pre-galvanised and galvanised steel pipes, large-diameter tubes, and hollow structural sections.

JTL already operates multiple manufacturing plants across India, with facilities in Punjab, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh. The expansion at Mangaon brings JTL’s total steel pipe production capacity to 586,000 tonnes per annum (tpa), with 300,000 tpa coming from backward integration. This strategic move enables the company to maintain a competitive edge by reducing dependency on external suppliers and increasing internal efficiency.

This latest development is a key step in JTL’s commitment to innovation and growth. By boosting production capabilities, the company is well-positioned to meet the evolving demands of industries that rely on high-quality steel pipes and tubes for infrastructure and construction projects.

The expansion not only enhances production efficiency but also reflects JTL’s focus on sustainability and long-term growth in the steel manufacturing sector. This will further strengthen its standing as a major player in the value-added steel products market.
