K J International Limited planning to set up Steel Plant Project in Punjab

K J International Limited intends to expand its current steel mill in Khingr Choe, Jullandhar, Punjab. The estimated cost of the expansion endeavour is approximately 29 Crores. The project's capacity of Steel billets 153000 TPA and Rolled/flats 119000 TPA will employ approximately 100 employees. 

It is anticipated that the project will be concluded by the end of 2024. New induction furnaces, a ladle refining furnace, a vacuum degassing device, and a continuous casting machine will be installed as part of this expansion project. The plant will be able to produce a broader variety of steel products, including billets, blooms, and slabs, with the help of the new machinery. 

The expansion initiative is indicative of India's growing steel demand. Between 2023 and 2027, the steel industry is projected to grow at a CAGR of 7.5%. The expansion helps K J International Limited satisfy the increasing steel demand in the United States. The following are the details of the expansion project: The project will be located at the existing steel plant site at Khingra Choe, Jullandhar, Punjab. The project will include the installation of new induction furnaces, a ladle refining furnace, a vacuum degassing unit, and a continuous casting machine. The project is expected to cost around 29 Crores. The project is expected to create employment for around 100 people. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

As of September 2023, The project is now in the stage of construction being started the work on the project will be finished in 2024, 2025 or 2026 It has been decided to hire a local contractor.
