Marine Electricals Joins Forces with Cummins India for Naval Ship Pumps

Marine Electricals has partnered with Cummins India to manufacture pumps specifically for the Indian Navy, marking a significant step in their commitment to maritime defense. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two companies focuses on the supply, commissioning, and after-sales services for these pumps, catering not only to the Indian Navy but also to private ship owners. This collaboration also sets the stage for exploring opportunities in the energy sector, particularly in power generation solutions.

In tandem with this partnership, Marine Electricals’ subsidiary, Narhari Engineering Works, is expanding its manufacturing capabilities. The company is increasing its production capacity for naval and marine motors up to 1MW and is set to begin manufacturing alternators for naval and marine applications at a new facility in Palghar. This expansion reflects Narhari Engineering's commitment to meeting the growing demand for specialized marine equipment.

Established in 1964, Narhari Engineering has built a reputation for producing custom-made shock-graded motors that meet stringent Naval Engineering standards. With a production capacity of up to 300 kW, these motors are integral to various naval ship applications, showcasing the company’s expertise in the defense sector.

Additionally, Narhari Engineering is expanding its global footprint. The company has recently opened offices in Europe and the UAE, aiming to boost its export business and strengthen its international presence. This move aligns with the company’s strategy to diversify and grow its market reach.

The collaboration between Marine Electricals and Cummins India, along with Narhari Engineering’s expansions, positions the company as a key player in both the Indian and global maritime industries, driving innovation and excellence in naval engineering.
