Ramco Cements has successfully commissioned a new 8 MW Waste Heat Recovery System (WHRS) at its Ramasamy Raja Nagar cement plant in Tamil Nadu.
With this addition, the plant’s WHRS capacity has increased from 2 MW to 10 MW, enhancing its energy efficiency and reducing dependence on conventional power sources. At the consolidated level, Ramco Cements’ total waste heat power generation capacity has now grown from 45.15 MW to 53.15 MW.
The company emphasized that this development is part of its broader sustainability and energy optimisation strategy, aimed at improving operational efficiency and contributing to India’s green cement manufacturing goals. WHRS expansions play a critical role in reducing carbon footprint and supporting long-term cost savings.
