Shree Sant Damaji Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Limited (SSDSSKL), a leading sugar manufacturer in Maharashtra, is embarking on a new project to establish a Fusel Oil Manufacturing Unit at its existing sugar mill in Mangalwedha, Solapur. This project, with a capacity of 500 LPD.The project is estimated to cost 50 crores. The funding for the project will be provided by SSDSSKL's own resources.
Fusel oil is a by-product of the distillation of sugarcane juice to produce sugar. It is a complex mixture of alcohols, esters, and aldehydes, with a characteristic odor. Fusel oil is used in a variety of applications, including the production of alcoholic beverages, perfumes, and cosmetics.The fusel oil manufacturing unit will be located on the existing SSDSSKL premises in Mangalwedha. The unit will be equipped with the latest technology to ensure the efficient and safe production of fusel oil.
Increased income The selling of fusel oil will increase SSDSSKL's income and improve its financial performance. Lower environmental effectRecovery and refining fusel oil will lessen sugar production's environmental effect.
As on December 2023, The project is now in the stage of receiving approvals. The project has received all necessary clearances. By the end of the year 2023, development on the project will have begun.
