Shyam Steel Group has announced a major expansion in West Bengal, unveiling investment projects worth Rs 15,000 crore. These initiatives are projected to generate approximately 20,000 employment opportunities and strengthen the state’s industrial landscape. The centerpiece is a Rs 10,000 crore integrated steel plant in Mejia, Bankura, which will add 2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to the company’s production capacity. An additional Rs 5,000 crore is earmarked for diversification into sectors including defense, real estate, chemicals, and industrial infrastructure.
