On November 11, Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil, Minister for Medical Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, laid the foundation stone for a new drinking water supply project in Sedam, Karnataka.
Implemented under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme, the Rs 47.85 crore project aims to address Sedam’s long-standing water scarcity by drawing water from the Khachur Barrage. Once completed, the system will provide 135 liters of clean drinking water per person per day, benefiting the entire town within 18 months. The initiative also includes the construction of five new overhead water tanks to enhance storage capacity and distribution efficiency.
Dr. Patil also highlighted a series of ongoing infrastructure initiatives, including the upgradation of Sedam Taluk Hospital, new roads under the Kalyana Patha and Pragathi Patha projects, and improvements to the underground drainage network. He reaffirmed his commitment to developing Kalaburagi into a leading health hub and encouraged citizens to make greater use of public healthcare facilities.
