Nallamala-Bollapalli Link Approved: Big Win for Prakasam

Lanka Dinakar, Chairman of the Twenty Point Programme Implementation Committee, expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for approving the linking of the Nallamala Sagar (Veligonda) project with the Bollapalli Reservoir to supply Godavari water.

The initiative is aimed at addressing severe water scarcity in Prakasam district, particularly in fluoride-affected areas such as Kanigiri and Markapur. Chairman Dinakar noted that over 1,000 villages face fluoride contamination, and the project is expected to benefit 60 lakh people and irrigate seven lakh acres of land. He thanked CM Naidu for his commitment to completing the project and enhancing the region’s water supply, agriculture, and industrial development.

“The interlinking of the Krishna and Godavari rivers will transform the drought- and fluoride-affected western region of Prakasam district,” said Lanka Dinakar.
