Shalby's National Blitz: 5 New Hospitals to Add 2,500 Beds

Ahmedabad-based Shalby Hospitals is poised to expand its national presence with new multi-specialty hospitals planned in Lucknow, Kolkata, Nagpur, and Pune over the next two to five years.

The expansion includes a greenfield project at Mumbai’s Asha Parekh Hospital, which will increase Shalby’s total network capacity to approximately 2,500 beds. Currently, the group operates 17 hospitals with 2,300 beds, and its next phase of growth will focus on Tier-1 cities. Each new facility will feature 200–250 beds, designed for operational efficiency and scalability.

The growth strategy will combine owned and asset-light models, enabling balanced expansion and optimal capital deployment. Renowned for its orthopedic excellence, Shalby has successfully diversified into cardiology, oncology, neurology, nephrology, and organ transplantation, with orthopedics now accounting for about 35% of total revenue. The group is also making significant investments in advanced medical technologies to enhance clinical outcomes and patient care standards.
