Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has received a letter of award (LoA) from North Eastern Railway for the construction of the substructure of Important Bridge No. 50 over the river Gandak.
The project, estimated at ₹165.04 crore, involves the construction of a double D-type well foundation to support a double-line track designed for the RDSO 25-tonne axle load standard between Paniyahwa and Valmikinagar stations. The bridge will have a configuration of 14 spans of 61 metres each and is part of the doubling work on the Gorakhpur Cantt–Valmikinagar section.
The contract stipulates a completion period of 24 months, during which RVNL will carry out all associated civil engineering works, including foundation construction, substructure development, and related support systems. The project is expected to significantly enhance rail capacity, safety, and connectivity in the North Eastern Railway network.
