MP on the Move: A ₹3 Lakh Crore Infrastructure Makeover

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has unveiled an ambitious infrastructure roadmap worth over ₹3 lakh crore for Madhya Pradesh, aimed at transforming the state’s connectivity, boosting tourism, and strengthening logistics networks.

Speaking at the inauguration of Madhya Pradesh’s longest flyover in Jabalpur, Gadkari announced a host of strategic projects, including a ₹5,500 crore Tiger Corridor connecting Kanha, Panna, Bandhavgarh, and Pench tiger reserves—designed to promote eco-tourism and generate rural employment.

Key projects include:

₹15,000 crore Bhopal–Jabalpur Greenfield Expressway, ₹12,000 crore Indore–Bhopal Expressway, ₹10,000 crore Lakhnadaun–Raipur Highway, ₹15,000 crore Jabalpur–Mandla–Chilpi Corridor, ₹2,500 crore upgrade of the Seoni–Chhindwara–Sanwner Highway, ₹2,300 crore Khargone–Julwania Road

Additionally, approvals have been granted for key two-lane projects such as the ₹625 crore Betul–Paratwara stretch and the ₹750 crore Balaghat–Nainpur road, enhancing regional connectivity.

On a broader national level, the Minister also reviewed progress on major initiatives including the ₹1 lakh crore Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, ₹33,000 crore worth of greenfield corridors, and the ₹11,000 crore Bhopal–Kanpur Economic Corridor—all part of efforts to facilitate faster travel and catalyze economic growth across central India.
