WAPCOS Korba: Bids for Mahanadi Intake Design & Survey.

WAPCOS has invited bids for engaging a consultant agency to provide technical expertise for conducting a water drawal study from the Mahanadi River in Korba district, Chhattisgarh.

The study will encompass civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines to identify a suitable water intake location. The consultant’s scope of work includes carrying out hydrological and bathymetric surveys of the river and its tributaries, as well as collecting data for geotechnical investigations to determine appropriate locations for pump-out tests. The assignment also involves estimating water storage availability during lean periods, conducting topographical surveys of the riverbed and banks, and assessing water availability at various dependability levels.

Key engineering activities include preparation of a design basis report, selection and sizing of pumps, pipelines, and associated mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

The project is to be completed within three months from the date of issuance of the Letter of Intent (LOI). The last date for submission of bids is 31 December 2025.
