Lucknow's ₹23,000-crore Makeover: A New Era of Connectivity

The Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation (UPSBC) has announced an ambitious ₹23,086-crore infrastructure roadmap for Lucknow for FY 2025–26, featuring 49 major projects. These include new bridges, rail overbridges (ROBs), flyovers, cloverleaf interchanges, and underpasses, aimed at enhancing urban mobility and easing traffic congestion.

The comprehensive plan is designed to improve road-rail connectivity and significantly reduce travel times across the city. UPSBC will now initiate the next phase, which includes securing administrative approvals, conducting technical evaluations, obtaining financial clearances, and floating tenders.

The projects span key constituencies, including East, West, North, Central, Sarojini Nagar, Malihabad, Mohanlalganj, and Bakshi Ka Talab.

Lucknow East: ₹4,023.83 crore allocated for five ROBs, a flyover, and elevated corridors.

Lucknow West: ₹3,161.12 crore for 13 structures, including five ROBs and six flyovers.

Lucknow North: ₹3,398.35 crore for projects including an ROB and three flyovers.

Central Lucknow: Five key projects, including a flyover from Charbagh to Chachikuan Hanuman Temple.

Sarojini Nagar: The highest allocation of ₹11,400.76 crore for 10 structures, including river bridges, ROBs, and a major flyover connecting Telibagh to SGPGIMS.
