Micromax's Bhagwati Products: Doubling Down on 'Make in India'

Bhagwati Products, the EMS arm of Micromax, is set to establish two new manufacturing facilities in Greater Noida through its joint venture with leading Chinese ODM Huaqin.

The upcoming factories will focus on assembling smartphones, tablets, servers, and IoT devices, while also manufacturing critical components such as displays and mechanical parts—signaling a strategic move toward higher value addition in the production process.

“We are setting up a new factory nearby for mobiles, tablets, and IoT. It is expected to be operational within six months,” said Rahul Sharma, Co-founder of Bhagwati Products.

In parallel, the company has already expanded its operations at the former Vivo facility, ramping up production capacity from 1 million to 4.5 million units. This enhanced capacity will serve major tech brands including Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, Realme, iQOO, Motorola, Acer, and Lenovo.

Bhagwati Products has also begun exporting Motorola tablets to the U.S. and is currently seeking approvals under the government’s ECMS scheme to begin domestic manufacturing of key components.
