The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) of Rajasthan has announced a bid invitation for a significant water supply project in the Kekri-Sarwar sector, Ajmer district. This project aims to enhance the water supply system for the region, ensuring reliable access to clean water.
The project, valued at ₹417.04 crore, includes the strengthening of the water supply infrastructure, water production system from the Bisalpur Dam (Package-III), the construction of a Water Treatment Plant (WTP) at Kekri, and the clear water transmission system from Kekri to Nasirabad. This development is crucial for ensuring sustainable water management in the area.
In addition to the primary project, PHED has also called for tenders to retrofit water supply systems through Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) in 255 villages across the Bhinay and Masuda blocks of Ajmer. This initiative, under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), will leverage the Bisalpur Dam System and includes a 10-year operation and maintenance contract, estimated at ₹366.29 crore.
This dual-focus project aims to significantly improve water accessibility and quality in the Kekri-Sarwar sector and surrounding villages, aligning with the broader goals of the Jal Jeevan Mission to provide safe and adequate drinking water to every rural household by 2024.
Interested parties are invited to submit their bids by 07 October 2024, marking a critical step toward advancing water infrastructure in Rajasthan. The projects represent a substantial investment in the region’s future, addressing the water needs of thousands of residents.
