Maharashtra's ₹82.83 Crore Plan to Revitalize Kukadi Canal

The Maharashtra Water Resources Department (WRD) has issued a tender worth ₹82.83 crore for special repair works on the Kukadi Left Bank Canal, spanning from km 1 to km 60.

The project includes embankment strengthening, desilting, lining restoration, and rehabilitation of control structures. These interventions aim to reduce seepage losses, enhance structural durability, and improve irrigation reliability—ultimately supporting greater agricultural productivity in the canal’s command area.

Undertaken under the Maharashtra Irrigation Improvement Programme (MIIP), the initiative is focused on improving the operational efficiency and water distribution capacity of the Kukadi canal system. The Kukadi Irrigation Project, which serves regions across Pune and Ahilyanagar districts, is a vital source of water for agriculture and rural communities.

Eligible contractors can submit their bids until the deadline of 22 August 2025.
