Kerala State Drugs planning to set up Drugs Project in Kerala

Kerala State Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Limited (KSDP) intends to establish a new Oncology Drugs Project in Alleppy, Alappuzha. The project is estimated to take three years to complete and will have an annual production capacity of six crore tablets, 4.5 crore capsules, and 37 lakh intravenous drugs. The Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) is funding the project, which is expected to cost $231 million. The KSDP has already purchased the project's site and is finalizing the design and construction plans. The KSDP's Oncology Drugs Project is a major endeavour to make cancer drugs more affordable and accessible to Kerala residents. The project will also serve to grow the state's pharmaceutical industry and create jobs. Since 1974, the KSDP has been manufacturing and supplying important and life-saving medications as a public sector venture.
