Bihar's Green Transition Gets a Boost from NTPC

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), the green energy arm of NTPC, is set to develop renewable energy and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Bihar, reinforcing efforts toward clean energy expansion and decarbonisation.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between NGEL and Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd (BSPGCL), represented by NGEL CEO Sarit Maheswari and BSPGCL Director (Technical) Abdesh Kumar Singh. The signing took place in the presence of Bihar’s Minister for Energy, Planning & Development, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, along with senior state officials.

The collaboration aims to accelerate Bihar’s energy transition and sustainability goals. As NTPC’s flagship green energy entity, NGEL is targeting 60 GW of renewable capacity by FY32. This initiative marks a strategic step in advancing India's clean energy mission while fostering regional development.
