JSW Neo's 500 MW Project Blossoms with Expansion Option

JSW Neo Energy Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has achieved a significant milestone in the renewable energy sector. The company has been awarded a Letter of Awards (LoA) by the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for a wind capacity of 500 MW, as part of SECI's competitive bidding process for establishing 1,350 MW ISTS-connected Wind Power Projects in Tranche XVI. Moreover, JSW Neo has the opportunity to increase its awarded capacity by up to 525 MW through a greenshoe option, potentially reaching a maximum of 1,025 MW.

This accomplishment underscores JSW Neo Energy's commitment to advancing its presence in the renewable energy market. With a target to elevate its installed generation capacity to 9.8 GW by CY24 from the current 7.2 GW, JSW Neo Energy has solidified its standing with the capacity secured in SECI's Tranche XVI, bringing its total locked-in capacity to 10.3 GW.

Looking forward, JSW Neo Energy is poised to pursue ambitious goals. By 2030, the company aims to achieve a generation capacity of 20 GW alongside 40 GWh of energy storage capacity. Presently, JSW Neo has locked in 10.3 GW of generation capacity and 3.4 GWh of energy storage capacity through battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects. Additionally, JSW Energy has pledged to reduce its carbon footprint by 50% by 2030 and strives to attain carbon neutrality by 2050.
