UJVN Limited has invited bids for the construction of a crucial barrage intake and associated works for the 72 MW Tiuni Plasu Hydroelectric Project (HEP) on the Tons River in Dehradun district, Uttarakhand. This contract, valued at ₹134.06 crore, includes river diversion and other essential infrastructure to support the hydroelectric facility.
In addition to the barrage intake, UJVN is seeking bids for the excavation of the head race tunnel adits, surge shaft, and penstock for the same project. The cost for these specific works is estimated at ₹131.76 crore. These components are vital for the efficient operation and energy generation of the Tiuni Plasu HEP.
The hydroelectric project, with its strategic location on the Tons River, aims to enhance the region's renewable energy capacity, contributing to Uttarakhand’s growing portfolio of sustainable energy initiatives. The successful completion of these contracts is expected to play a significant role in achieving the state’s renewable energy goals.
Interested parties have until October 28, 2024, to submit their bids for these high-value contracts. This timeline allows for a comprehensive evaluation and selection process, ensuring that the best-qualified contractors are chosen to execute the works.
