The Adani Group has announced a significant ₹3,500 crore investment to develop two major projects in Madhya Pradesh. The projects include the construction of a 2 million tonne per annum cement grinding unit in Guna and a propellant production plant in Shivpuri. This strategic move, revealed by Karan Adani, CEO of Adani Ports and SEZ, at an industry conclave in Gwalior, underscores the conglomerate’s commitment to expanding its industrial footprint in the region.
The cement grinding unit in Guna will bolster Adani Cement’s capacity as part of its broader strategy to become the leading cement producer in India. The Shivpuri propellant production plant aligns with the government's objective to enhance defense exports, highlighting Adani Group’s role in supporting national security and economic growth. Together, these projects are expected to generate over 3,500 direct and indirect jobs, providing a significant boost to local employment and economic activity.
This latest investment builds on the Adani Group’s substantial presence in Madhya Pradesh, where the company has already invested over ₹18,000 crore across various sectors. These include cement, defense, infrastructure, renewable energy, and power transmission, demonstrating the group's comprehensive approach to regional development.
In a related development, Ambuja Cement, a subsidiary of the Adani Group, announced a ₹1,600 crore investment for a six million tonne per annum grinding unit in Bihar earlier this month. These moves are part of Adani Cement's broader plan to increase its production capacity to 140 million tonnes by 2028, reinforcing its position as the second-largest cement producer in India.
The Adani Group’s continued investments reflect its long-term vision of contributing to India's industrial growth while supporting key government initiatives in defense and infrastructure.
