Tata Power Secures 80 MW Hybrid Deal for Mumbai.

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Tata Power Mumbai Distribution for an 80 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project.

This innovative project combines solar, wind, and battery storage technologies to ensure reliable, on-demand power supply, particularly during peak demand periods—enhancing overall grid stability. Scheduled for commissioning within 24 months, the project is expected to generate approximately 315 million units of clean electricity annually, offsetting over 250,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.

The project guarantees a four-hour peak power supply with a minimum 90% availability, enabling Tata Power Mumbai Distribution to meet its Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) targets.

Once operational, the FDRE project will supply clean energy to around 800,000 residential, commercial, and industrial consumers. This addition brings TPREL’s total renewable utility-scale capacity to 11.3 GW, further strengthening its leadership in India’s clean energy space and contributing to the nation’s energy transition goals.
